PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONResponsible for performing, with assistance, account structuring, metering and billing in a timely and accurate manner as it pertains to customer bills and revenue reporting; gaining the skills and knowledge of analyzing, metering and billing all customer accounts.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES- Performs with assistance all functions relating to the proper customer account structuring, metering and billing. Issues billing and metering corrections and adjustments within requisite timeframes, including demand, non-demand, residential and time-of-use customer accounts.
- Ability to analyze customer account structures, account receivables and billing calculations to ensure that financial presentations, related to the company's electric service revenue, are accurate. Retrieve relevant data to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
- Identifies system problems and data created by metering and billing irregularities, (e.g. billing system upgrades and/or enhancements, or meter inventory interfaces, etc.,)
- Ability to learn new technology to ensure data passes correctly to the various systems.
- Communicates with leads, supervisors, internal and external customers as needed to resolve discrepancies relating to metering, billing and customer data in a respectful and business-like manner.
- Contribute to the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports as well as departmental files for supervisor analysis.
- Assists in updating, analyzing and reconciling accounting, billing, metering and various system controls. (e.g. updating system parameters and processing returned bills, etc)
- Works with others within their job classification to ensure proper processing of billing and structuring of customer accounts.
- Actively participates in cross-functional departmental work groups and performs projects as assigned.

JOB SCOPEQualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Ability using multiple office suite software applications which include but may not be limited to those listed below. Requirements in specific software applications are as follows: Basic Microsoft Excel Basic Microsoft Word
- Ability to effectively communicate with the general public, supervision via the telephone, in writing and person-to-person in a variety of venues.
- Ability applying the requisite mathematical skills necessary to compute customer-bills.
- Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, various work locations, and 24-hour emergency call-out with little or no prior notice.
- Demonstrated ability accessing and navigating both the Intra- and Internet and successfully retrieving, organizing and presenting information relevant to the job.
- Demonstrated ability operating various widely used Productivity, Intra-and Internet-based systems in the Department/Division.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train and instruct lower classified employees.
- Associate College degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Capable working in an environment that requires daily and monthly deadlines.
- This position requires a criminal history record check as well as a drug test.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Ability to walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time. 2. Ability to input data into the computer for prolonged periods of time. 3. Ability to communicate clearly and comprehensibly.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Ability to use PowerPoint.
- Ability to use Microsoft Access.
- Working knowledge of Customer Information Billing systems.
