Description

  • Under limited supervision, performs a variety of carpentry, general construction, maintenance and repair work on company facilities and customer property.  
  • Under limited supervision does general construction, maintenance and repair work on company facilities. Does associated painting.  
  • Builds, remodels and refinishes furniture, building displays, exhibits and signs. Replaces and paints walls, partitions and windows. Inspects and repairs roofs on company facilities.  
  • Constructs and installs walls and modular fixtures. 
  • Repairs customer property caused by failure of company equipment. 
  • Repairs fences. Installs and maintains lock systems. 
  • Prepares concrete forms, pours and finishes concrete, lays bricks and performs other masonry work. 
  • Repairs tools. Does minor plumbing. 
  • Erects scaffolding and acts as a rigger. Operates forklift and automotive equipment.  
  • Has general working knowledge of the National Building Code. Has general knowledge of computer aided drafting program.  
  • Performs other related or less skilled work as required or directed.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed a carpentry apprenticeship and/or possess journeymans papers or certificate. 
  • Experience demonstrating skill working under limited supervision doing general construction, maintenance and repair work on company facilities. Including associated painting. 
  • Experience demonstrating skill building, remodeling and refinishing furniture, building displays, exhibits and signs.  
  • Experience demonstrating skill replacing and painting walls, partitions and windows. Experience demonstrating skill inspecting and repairing roofs on company facilities. 
  • Experience demonstrating skill constructing and installing walls and modular fixtures.  
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various PHI locations as required. Ability and willingness to adhere to federal, state, local and company safety regulations in addition to PHIs policies and values.  
  • Ability and willingness to work non-standard and extended hours, rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays and during system emergencies, as required. Ability and willingness to perform a second role in accordance with PHI's Emergency Preparedness Guidelines for all employees. 
  • Must successfully pass a Criminal History Background Check which consists of a 7-year criminal records check for felony convictions. 
  • Must possess a valid driver's license. 
  • Must successfully pass a medical screening to include a drug test. 
  • This position is a NERC Regulated position. 
  • As such, a background check will be conducted on the incumbent every seven years. 
  • Additionally, the incumbent will be required to complete annual NERC compliance training. 
Preferred:  
  • Experience demonstrating skill repairing customer property caused by failure of company equipment.  
  • Experience demonstrating skill repairing fences. 
  • Experience demonstrating skill installing and maintaining lock systems.
  • Experience demonstrating skill preparing concrete forms, pouring and finishing concrete, laying bricks and performing other masonry work.
  • Experience demonstrating skill repairing tools.  
  • Experience demonstrating skill with minor plumbing.  
  • Experience demonstrating skill erecting scaffolding and acting as a rigger. 
  • Experience demonstrating skill operating forklift and automotive equipment. 
  • General working knowledge of the National Building Code.
